“We came for my oldest son to attend VMI’s open house weekend. We found this cabin from VMI’s website and decided to make it a family weekend vacation. What an awesome plan. We had no idea how beautiful the cabin was going to be and the view we would enjoy. We have all had a wonderful time, and will enjoy our memories of our visit for years to come. Hopefully our son will attend VMI, and we will return for another wonderful visit. “

“These cabins are very unique. The relics are a nice tough as well as the lookout view. My other half of the family is staying in the Jackson cabin. We are here to celebrate my brother’s birthday and the winter ball at VMI. He is a sophomore and will graduate in 2011. Staying at these cabins topped off the weekend. The view is very beautiful in the morning when the sun rises. Because it is winter and there are no ghost tours we went on our own and made a video. We didn’t see anything . The town was nice as it always is. We took a few hikes. We saw a wolf and some deer. It is a big change from back home. At night the stars are incredible, we don’t see them at home. We will definitely come back. Thank you for allowing us to stay in the wonderful cabin. ”

HOWDY!!
“The cabin was cozy and delightful. We loved the views and the beautiful countryside. Walking around downtown was charming and we really enjoyed our stay. ‘Of all the places, this little village is the most beautiful.’ Thank you for an amazing time!”

“Every hour of every day, there is a great view of the mountains. We took non-stop pictures and love the cabin. Here for VMI Ring Figure and the cabin was a perfect place to get ready. Will be back soon!

Thank you!”

“Comparisons are hardly fair! This first experience “away” from the “norm” of highway hotels proved so very incomparable – except for prices which are about the same. The Tower offered a majestic view of the surrounding hills, farmland, horses, deer and low lands gently shrouded in the cool fog of morning mist. Sitting on the deck with steaks on the grill only to “give-way” to the comforts of a fully-furnished kitchen, complete with all of the amenities of a fine restaurant. Beds were superb – friends were better!

What a beautiful place and so comfortable. The view, our friends and closeness to town – doesn’t get any better. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Loved being able to cook and eat “at home”. There was nothing we lacked, very well furnished. Thank you.

“We really enjoyed our weekend in the Lee Cabin! We came up to see our son, who is a first year student at Washington & Lee, for parents/family weekend. The cabin really gave us a chance to relax and enjoy some great family time together. The scenery is beautiful and we loved being in the beautiful autumn weather. The cabin was really convenient to campus – so it was very easy going back and forth. We enjoyed eating out every evening at some wonderful restaurants – Christopher’s, Oscealo Mill and the Southern Inn. We love your cabin and hope to return next year!

The Paulettes (VMI ’69), Grovers(?) and Maloneys – from Richmond, Old Church and Sandbridge, Va. Respectively – all gathered for a wonderful weekend of hiking, sightseeing, eating, drinking and overall camaraderie. Loved the views and the comfort of the cabins. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
This place is so nice – The Lee and Jackson fit our families perfectly. We appreciated the “amenities” and thoughtfulness of the owners. Buy up the rest of the land around here and keep the view forever!”

We feel blessed that we could stay here! We enjoy our yearly vacation exploring new places. Natural Bridge, Lexington homes and all of the charm. The beauty of this hilltop was truly amazing! Very quiet. Felt like we could breathe. Hawks and butterflies made many appearances. Our time went by too quickly, but we took wonderful pictures and will have great memories. It was very easy to feel at home in the “Lee Cabin.” Appreciated all of the special touches. We were able to brush up on some history lessons.

Many Thanks,
Rick(Rich?) and Sandy, Westerville, OH
P.S. Our pups Parker & Bridgitte were also able to relax.

Incredible last minute trip for us. We are undergoing a kitchen remodel and we just needed to get away for a couple of days. We wanted to “cook”. We found the cabins on the internet, to our surprise, the cabin was perfect. Better than perfect. We enjoyed site seeing and shopping, and did I say cooking!! We will certainly visit again.

The Focklers…
Back to Norfolk and cooking in the microwave – bummer.
